Inter CT FC's SONO League officially began this past Sunday, December 5th, at our SONO Field House in Norwalk. This traditional indoor league allows current & prospective players to challenge themselves with fast-paced competition under the age-appropriate guidance/instruction from our Inter CT coaching staff. 

Sunday kicked-off the Winter season for our Boys teams, with players ranging from the 2008 - 2014 age groups. Across 4 hours of afternoon play, Inter CT hosted 10 separate 7v7 games on all 3 of our small-sided turf fields. 

Twenty different teams competed for their first victories on opening day. Our Indoor team names feature a range of familiar favorites like EPL giants Manchester City & Liverpool, as well as the Bundasliga's FC Bayern Munich & Serie A's Juventus. Others include hometown favorites of our coaching staff like Nottingham Forest and Leyton Orient, teams currently playing in the English Football Championship & English Football League 2 respectively.

Although many of our teams had a mix of players competing with one another for the first time, there was no shortage of quality — and with quality, came goals! 

All of our teams played their inaugural games with two,  22-minute halves. Across ten games, players managed to find the back of the net a whopping 99 times. Our goalkeepers saw an incredible amount of action, and defenses were put to the test from some intense attacking play. Across all competitions, Day 1 featured an average of 9.9 goals per game. With 440 total minutes of play, that was an average of 1 goal every 4.4 minutes!

Needless to say, we hope players are ready to bring the same intensity, as well as a desire to learn from their first games, in Week 2.

*Boys 2008-'14 SONO League action resumes at 12pm on Sunday the 12th; this also marks the beginning of our High School Boys League.
