As we enter day 4 of our International trip to Ireland we can report that the first segment of the journey has been busy, but very enjoyable.

Representing Inter CT FC in the Foyle Cup are our Boys 2009 group and our Girls 2009 group. This is the first Inter CT FC girls team to travel to compete on the international stage and they have started great.

Both teams were invited to use the beautiful facilities at Buncrana Hearts FC for training and scrimmages on the day of arrival and day 2. This helped prep us for tournament game 1 where both teams won. Similarly, both groups were 0-0 at half time before really imposing themselves in the second half to win. The boys won 2-0 and the girls won 4-0.

They are now getting read to play game 2 of the tournament.

Players and parents spent the weekend in Buncrana, Donegal where they were able to walk on the beach, dip their toes in the water, experience the beautiful village Main Street and some even sneaked in a round of golf!

In Derry the boys team have walked the tour of the Peoples Gallery, a set of outdoor murals painted by the Bogside Artists, one of which, Tommy Kelly, is coach Martys brother in law.

Our 2008 team are continuing their preparations for the super cup which begins next Monday. After a successful week in Connecticut where they had 2 competitive scrimmages the boys have been acclimatizing in Derry, where they have use of the facilities of coach Martys High School, St Columbs College. They played their first local scrimmage on Wednesday 7/17 defeating a local U19 team with a brave performance.
