Two years ago, during the summer, this group of friends decided to run a lemonade stand.

They set up a few times during the summer across different locations in town and raised almost $400. The girls knew, without prompting they wanted to donate their profits. After a lot of discussion, that fall they split their profits and donated half to Thomaston Soccer Club and half to their own competitive team, Thomaston Avalanche. What was really amazing was when people heard about their donations, it inspired others to donate and were even given warm-up shirts that said “Kindness, Pass It On”

This past summer, the girls got together for another lemonade stand. This year, they really wanted to donate their profits to a cause where it would/could help children. Initially, they had thought about buying toys and donating them to the CT Children’s Hospital.  It was around that time that we found out about Avery. All of us read her story, not just about her illness, but about her fight and spirit and the camp she used to go to for kids will illnesses like her. We all participated on July 24th in support of Avery’s Army.

It was then that the girls decided that they wanted to split their profits and donate half to Avery’s Foundation and half for toys to donate to Children’s Hospital.

All but one of these girls is part of the Inter community, and the one who isn’t was in full support of the decision.

They hope that some good comes from the small donation and that you all know that although we didn’t know Avery, she has inspired these girls!

The Inter-Litchfield girls are Elyssa Desrosiers, Georgia Coer, Kaylee Boulanger, Emma Wiles and Kyla Lahey.

Samantha Rinaldi is not part of Inter but a life long soccer player as well.

Inter CT is so proud of this handful of girls and hope that their story of generosity inspires others!
