Please see the below statement from Missouri Youth Soccer Association:
"There has been a lot of speculation and rumors surrounding an impending USSF decision on Seasonal vs Birth Year Registration. Due to the amounts of disinformation currently circulating I wanted to update you…
On August 15th of this year, we sent out a survey to all registered coaches seeking opinions and input in this important matter. If someone did not receive this request, then they have probably elected not to receive emails from us. Nearly 6,000 coaches were emailed with over 2,000 responding to the survey.
At this time there have been ZERO decisions made by U.S. Soccer, it is anticipated that they will discuss and vote on the matter in their upcoming November BOD meeting…everything else related to this regarding USSF is pure speculation with no foundation of fact.
I can tell you that US Youth Soccer and US Club Soccer, who make up 85%+ of all registered players, both stated at a US Soccer Youth Council Meeting that they will work together and move in the same direction once they receive clarity from USSF. While I guess other youth governing bodies could make alternate decisions, those would not affect most teams, especially those at the local league level. The statements by other groups seem sensationalized at best based on current knowledge.
Once a decision is made, we will communicate this out to everyone along with a plan for transition, if necessary, but with zero valid news at this time it would not make sense to make general statements.
At the end of the day no matter what the decision is, your team will be based on the age of the oldest player registered on it and your ability to keep a team together will not be affected except for a possible age designation change.
Any changes that may happen would only affect competitive teams, recreational and in-house programming will continue to have the ability to form as needed for effective programs.
Again, we will be in touch as soon as we have valid information."
