On Tuesday night, 2/25, we hosted our annual College Recruitment Information Evening.

Attended by over 120 people in the auditorium at All Saints, the event was hosted by High School Director Colin Spreag (University of New Haven Women’s Soccer) and included a discussion panel of Marty Walker (Iona College Women’s Soccer), Marc Davis (also Iona College Women’s Soccer) and Tania Armellino (University of Bridgeport Women’s Soccer).

Former Division 1 soccer player Aaron Mazzola (Sacred Heart) offered information from a player’s viewpoint, and both male and female players from all three branches of the club were treated to an educational evening delivered by a coaching staff with over 40 combined years of collegiate coaching experience.

The families who attended the event were given information about various topics including the importance of academics, school selections, the general recruiting process, the challenges and opportunities that present themselves along the recruiting journey, guidance as to timelines and suggested action plans, funding / scholarships / finance, and partnerships that Inter Connecticut utilize to give players a leg up in the process (such as Veo, Dark Horse AI, and Sports Recruits).

The event was a great success and we’d like to thank the large number of families who attended.

Keep your eyes on future newsletters as we continue to showcase more athletes who have committed to continue their soccer careers at the collegiate level.
