Recent Goalkeepers 2006 - 2005 News

In a week which brought nine points from a possible twelve for our USL Academy team and a points haul that puts us top of the North East Regional League, we received some great news that proves the pathway to pro ladder is working.

Jordan, who last year played for the 2004 NAC received the invite to train with Hartford Athletic.

This news follows the news that goalkeeper, Luca got asked to be in the AC CT USL 2 squad earlier in the year.

In our recent home games, we were joined by Inter CT youth players who acted as ball boys. This not only helped the flow of the game, it provided our young players with some insight into the the future of their soccer.

Leading Youth Club Inter Connecticut FC Joins as Founding Affiliate

AC Connecticut has officially introduced the USL Academy Affiliate Network with locally-based Inter Connecticut FC joining as the club’s official affiliate member, the club announced today. The program enables its affiliates the unique opportunity to offer elevated development, education, and identification opportunities to all of its members through association with AC Connecticut.

Through a direct and meaningful connection to the AC Connecticut USL League Two and Academy teams, Inter Connecticut FC will be able to extend the pathway for its own most advanced players and provide transition to the highest levels. AC Connecticut will also collaborate with and welcome Inter Connecticut FC coaches on the Academy staff. Additional elements include special offers and access related to AC Connecticut USL League Two events and activities.

“We are delighted to launch the AC Connecticut USL Academy Affiliate Network and establish a platform which enables us to connect more directly with a close youth club for the purposes of positively growing the pathway in southwestern Connecticut,” AC Connecticut General Manager Robin Schuppert said. “It is particularly fitting that Inter Connecticut FC is our founding USL Academy affiliate club considering their successful track record of providing opportunities for local players at all levels, and a set of core values that align with our own. We look forward to working closely with Inter Connecticut FC during the 2021 USL Academy season and hope that, together, we can help progress players to the USL League Two team and beyond.”

In addition to being part of the US Youth Soccer National League program, Inter CT FC has been one of the largest contributors to the development and identification of young soccer players in southwestern Connecticut. Inter Connecticut FC’s mission is to develop youth soccer players at every age and skill level to build character through the sport while establishing long-term relationships with families, individuals, and impactful organizations.

“We are all excited to collaborate with AC Connecticut and offer our players a realistic pathway to professional men’s soccer,” Inter Connecticut FC Managing Director Leon Othen said. “This affiliation is the ultimate showcase for our young players to prove that if you stick with the system you will have the opportunity to showcase not only for collegiate exposure but also the professional game.”

“Our affiliation with our friends at AC Connecticut provides a wonderful opportunity for our players to realize that the dream of playing professionally exists within our pathway,” Inter Connecticut FC Technical Director Marty Walker said. “A host of players have graduated into the USL pro leagues, the MLS, furthered their careers abroad and have represented their country after having played in USL League Two. Therefore, being a part of the USL Academy that makes professional soccer a viable part of our pathway can only make Inter CT FC more competitive. As a club it means that our players don’t have to look elsewhere to realize their potential. For our high school aged players to be able to play for our club, potentially be selected to the USL Academy system AND play for their High School soccer team, it means they get the best development experience as teenage soccer players.”
