Jackson R wins IFCPF World Cup with Team USA

INTER Player Enjoys IFCPF CUp in Spain

Early June: Over the first week of June '22, the annual International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football held their international club World Cup in Barcelona, Spain — a tournament now graced by the presence of US teams.

Inter CT FC 2007 player Jackson Ruscitti, a staple of the INTER Soccer community along with his older brother, Owen, received the call-up to join CP Soccer US in this highly-competitive competition — one which saw Team USA come out as Champions!!

The Importance of CP Soccer & Opportunities

For years, the largest established soccer nations have provided teams, leagues, and clear pathways for players with various disabilities & limitations to stay involved in the game of soccer — both for the love of the game, and its competitive aspects. This area of soccer is still far in the formative stages in the US.

Each year, CP Soccer both raises teams & recruits players from across the country to be a part of competitive opportunities — like the IFCPF Cup. Jackson was one of a few players who were contacted from across the country to be a part of this amazing opportunity.

As a pathway program, CP Soccer's representative US team dedicates itself as committed to providing soccer opportunities for players “affected by cerebral palsy, stroke or traumatic brain injury.”

One of the ultimate goals is providing a direct link for these players to US Paralympic Soccer — the Para-7-a-side Team — the highest level of competitive play nationally for players with brain injuries/disabilities.

Team USA & Jackson — Champions!

Over the course of the week, Team USA, represented by CP Soccer US, produced a spectacular run the the finals — including 4 straight wins with 0 goals conceded. This included dominant wins against host-nation Spain, England, & Netherlands in the finals.

They also played to a well-needed draw with Ireland — a game in which Jackson played in entirety to help secure vital points!

Embodying the 'Inter-way'

As a key member of our 2007 boys, we have only the highest praises for Jackson and the strides he has made on the international stage for talented, passionate players affected by the likes of cerebral palsy & other traumatic brain injuries.

His accomplishments, alongside both CP Soccer & INTER, are a testament to our overlapping missions in providing the necessary support & inclusive instruction to ensure all soccer players receive the training necessary to find elite opportunity — on any stage.

These foundational beliefs spawn from the very badge Jackson dons during his INTER season. Alluding to what we simply call "the squares," the intentional pattern of our badge is representative of equality to opportunity & access, positivity, advancement, strength, and connectedness for all. They are "stepping stones to success" in long-term commitment to development.

We want to again congratulate Jackson for emulating such success & values that we strive to honor as a club. We wish him continued success on & off the field, and know he'll continue to earn amazing soccer opportunities — what a way to kick-off summer!

INTER CT Hosts 2nd Annual Collaboration with 'Football 4 All Charity'

This summer, INTER CT FC has once again collaborated with charity partners at Football 4 All to bring incredible, and affordable, summer camps to the southern Connecticut area.

Camps will include INTERs elite coaching staff, hosting some of our favorite soccer drills, exercises, and games!

What is F4A?

Football for All is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating economic barriers across the beautiful game. It seeks to provide equitable opportunities to all players to be able to afford premier soccer & the opportunities that come with.

Our Relationship with F4A

INTER CT FC held their first annual Football 4 All soccer charity camp — in partner with the non-profit — in the summer of 2021. Nearly 50 players participated in this single camp experience at our All Saints fields in Norwalk CT. Together, they raised over $4,500 for charity — and had some amazing days of soccer doing so!

Proceeds from these inexpensive camps will be put towards helping our community in need, and supporting talented INTER CT players who may require financial assistance to continue playing at the highest levels, and enjoying the life experiences and soccer opportunities  like college showcases, regional tournaments,  & international travel.

*How can I get involved?*

This year, we've expanded our F4A collaboration to feature 3 summer camps across June, July & August. These include a HS Boys & traditional F4A Camps held at our All Saints fields in Norwalk. Also, a new additional camp being held in a centralized, Fairfield location.

Signing up for these exciting camps is easy, cheap, and immediately helps by supporting players in our community. Don't miss out!!

Inter CT Becomes Northeast Athletic Center Major Tennant

By Inter CT FC 04/28/2022, 12:45pm EDT

Indoor space secured for winter 2022/23

Dear parents and players,

In a recent news article, we let you know we were aware that SONO Field house had been sold to the Northeast Volleyball Club. We have since been in negotiations to retain a relationship to utilize the one turf field that will remain.

We are pleased to announce that Inter CT will now be the major tenant at what will now be called the Northeast Athletic Center.

With the new sale comes renovations which start today. (April 28th) As such, Inter CT has agreed to utilize our other facilities during the remainder of this spring when indoor space is not essential. Therefore, within the next day, you will see practices at SONO have now been moved to All Saints or another alternative location with the hope of minimal disruption.

After this spring, the new agreement has allowed us to book all possible hours that we may need and now sees us utilizing the facility every day during the winter when we need it most. Plus, we will continue to use it in the fall and spring of 2023.

As a club, we are grateful that we have our home base in All Saints, which during COVID-19 allowed us to continue to play whilst sticking to CCD guidelines. Other clubs were not so lucky. As Inter-CT has grown, we invested back into indoor space at SONO with the aim of providing the best possible soccer experience.  This has paid dividends as we were the biggest client, putting us in a prime position to negotiate the hours we needed. It was only three years ago our primary indoor space was the gym at All Saints.

With our indoor hours available, we will be able to get early notice to 2022/23 teams to help plan during the winter.
