USL

What is USL?

The United Soccer League (USL) is the largest and fastest-growing professional soccer organization in North America, possessing more than a decade of experience in bringing the world’s game to communities across the United States and Canada. Overseeing three men’s leagues (USL Championship, USL League One, USL League Two), two women’s leagues (USL Super League, USL W League), one elite player development platform (USL Academy), and a national youth platform (USL Super Y League), the USL is built on a proven and recognized model in international football and counts more than 200 clubs in its membership.

USL Youth League

Inter CT FC is thrilled to announce that we will once again participate in the USL Y League this summer. After a fantastic inaugural season, highlighted by our 2010 team reaching the National Championships in Tampa, we are eager to build on that success in this prestigious competition.

Evolving from the historic Super Y League, USL Youth aligns the USL’s Youth initiatives and the full USL ecosystem’s youth-to-pro pathway.

It focuses on building and engaging a vibrant youth soccer community through events, content, and experiences, providing an integral step in the soccer journey of players, coaches, clubs, and families.

USL Youth aims to meet you where you are on your soccer journey and support youth soccer development.

WHAT IS USL SUMMER?

For our summer USL offerings we will take part in the USL Youth League.  It is dedicated to elevating the youth player experience in the United States by inspiring, educating, and engaging the American “soccer generation.”  Evolving from the historic Super Y League, USL Youth provides alignment between the USL’s youth initiatives and the full USL ecosystem’s youth-to-pro pathway. It focuses on building and engaging a vibrant youth soccer community through events, content, and experiences, providing an integral step in the soccer journey of players, coaches, clubs, and families.  The USL Y league finals are held in Tampa in December. WHAT IS THE USL PATHWAY CLASSIC?

USL Pathway Classic, a new national Academy and Youth competition set to begin in 2025. As the only unrestricted youth tournament hosted by a US Soccer professional league organization, the USL Pathway Classic invites clubs from across the country to apply, creating a unique competitive platform for young players to showcase their talent. This event will replace the USL Academy Cup, offering increased exposure and opportunities for youth players across the country.  The inaugural tournament will take place from April 24-27, 2025, at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay in Tampa, Fla. Future editions of the event will be held in various markets of USL professional teams, with the first event showcasing the USL Championship’s Tampa Bay Rowdies and the USL Super League’s Tampa Bay Sun FC.

One of Only Two CT teams in the League

Inter CT FC is proud to be only one of two clubs in CT to be accepted into the USL Youth League. With our structure, coaching levels, player ability, and facilities, Inter CT FC was chosen as a USL Youth Club for its inaugural season. Along  With our friends at AC CT, we know that we will represent CT soccer as best we can.

We have been looking at ways to improve our summer programming, and what better way than doing an elite-level league? Instead of some low-level summer tournaments. If you want to test yourself against the best in US soccer, complete our registered interest in USL Youth below.
