Spring may still be around the corner for most of us, but for our National League Teams, the Spring '22 Season kicked off this past weekend. Several of our age groups enjoyed opening games of their competitive seasons, with kick-offs spread across Saturday & Sunday (March 5th & 6th).
For our INTER 2008 & 2009's, Spring '22 serves as a direct continuation of their Fall seasons. Most notably, our 2008's are still aiming to secure their spot for Regionals this June.
Also seeing action this weekend were our High School teams — filled with players who've anxiously awaited this day since the end of their HS seasons last Fall. In fact, aside from months of ongoing training, many of these players have been INTER CT commits as early as June '21.
We also want to acknowledge the strong efforts put in by several of our youth girls teams this weekend. Though their seasons have yet to begin, they shared the same fields in the spirit of pre-season competition, putting final touches on their plans for Spring play.
This '21/'22 season has been highly anticipated by players, parents, and club-wide coaches thanks to increasing popularity of the INTER name. High enrollments in the off-season have produced expansions of teams across age groups, and led to one of the strongest talent pools our club has seen.
Selected players have also had the opportunity to train with our USL U19 Academy and USL U16 Pre-Academy teams.
Despite the cold & snowy conditions our teams have faced this Winter, our club has increasingly relied on investment in our SONO Field House Indoor Facility — as well as the use of our High Performance Center in collaboration with SportPerformanceU — to ensure our players are ready to tackle the season ahead.
