Inter CT FC Goalkeepers of all ages may be familiar with the name L1 Goalkeeping. In fact, the L1 logo is displayed proudly on the gloves that many of our youth goalkeepers wear to training & games.

For years, L1 Goalkeeping has been a proud sponsor of Inter CT FC — but did you know they've also been expanding their global presence? 

This February, one of Inter CT FC's club directors & co-owner of L1 Goalkeeping, Marty Walker, took a trip to his hometown of Derry, Ireland. 

While in Derry, coach Walker visited the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium — home to the Derry City Ladies Football Club (Derry City Ladies FC). There he observed a training session, met their professional goalkeepers, and presented them with some essential gear: new goalkeeping gloves for the 2022 Season. 

That's right — L1 Gloves are now an official sponsor of Derry City Ladies goalkeepers!  They compete in the highest level of Northern Ireland's Women's Football Association via the Women's Premiership league. 

When asked about this newest venture, Marty said, 

“It’s great to be able to sponsor the Women’s goalkeepers at Derry City and to see the growth of Women’s soccer in general in my hometown. 

Thanks to Gareth Moore of Keeperlit Goalkeeping for making the connection. Gareth, who is a distributor for L1 gloves in Derry and who coaches the girls at Derry, is a great role model and coach for the keepers at Derry City, and all the goalkeepers in Derry & the surrounding areas.”
